Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Academy of Ballet to properly train and expose students to the art of ballet.  It is our goal to develop a lifelong appreciation for this art as a dancer and as a knowledgeable member of the audience.

The Academy of Ballet has been in continuous operation since 1958. Our curriculum includes Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Ballet Technique.  Additional classes include Partnering, Character, Modern, Floor Barre, and Variations.  Adult classes include Ballet Technique (beginning, intermediate and advanced) and Ballet Exercise classes during daytime hours.

The Academy of Ballet is located within the Grand Opera House, a Dubuque landmark, and a thriving community theater.  It is located at the intersection of 8th and Iowa Streets.  A public parking ramp is directly across from the front door of the theater.
